We use a 3 lane progression system to ensure the safety of all skaters. Lane 1 is on our gymnastic mats which are carpeted. Lane 2 is our beginner area where we allow students to progress to after they have showed us they are capable of skating on the gym floor. In lane 2, if a student falls 3 times they come back to the carpeted area and practice 1 lap. After the practice lap they are allowed back on the floor (lane 2) to practice. Lane 3 is for the more advanced skater, these skaters know how to stop with one foot, avoid and skater who might have fallen in front of them and can skate without losing their balance around turns. If a skater falls in lane 3 they go back to lane 2 for one practice lap and then they may return to lane 3.
Skates and protective gear are provided to us through the SKATETIME School program. We rent these skates from SKATETIME, so the charge per student is $15.00.
